NOAA and NASA report suggests 2016 to be the hottest year recorded yet

Setting a new milestone for the changing climatic patterns, the scientists of NASA and NOAA, reported on Wednesday that our mother planet – Earth had struck its highest temperature in 2016, defeating the record of the hottest year, set a year earlier.

2016, the recently ended year is the new addition to the row of world’s hottest years. Yes, as per the fresh reports published by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the previous year was officially the warmest year after the 1880s. Since record-keeping for the temperature began in the 1880s, 2016 is the third constructive year to set the record of earth’s warmest year.

In the joint press conference, arranged by both NOAA and NASA, on Wednesday gave the world detailed description of the temperature level in 2016, alongside the harsh impacts of climate change and global warming. As mentioned in the new mutual report of NASA and NOAA, among top 17 hottest years, 16 years are recorded in this century only. It means, in the 2000s only, 16 consequential years have been recorded as warmest years.

In 2016, the international temperatures were stood on 0.99 degrees Celsius (1.78 degrees Fahrenheit), which is much warmer than the average temperature of the mid-20th century. With this temperature, 2016 recorded as the third hottest year in the line up to set a new record for worldwide average temperatures. In 2016, the temperature went on a long-term trend, and the average surface temperature of the planet went up nearly 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit, since the mid fo 19th century.

According to NOAA, the last cold year was recorded in 1911, and after this year, the years are getting hotter. It is a clear indication towards ‘how global warming is affecting the changing world and its ecology.’ The new report and discovery, made by NASA and NOAA has appeared only two days prior to the appointment of the American president Donald Trump – who has alleged the concept of global warming to be a hoax spread by China and declared to roll back the involvement of the US from the international efforts being provided to trim down the emissions of greenhouse gases.
