Sony Launches Xperia 8 Lite With New Main Cameras
Sony has silently launched a mid-range, new smartphone, the Xperia 8 Lite. This handset got announced in the company’s homeland, Japan. It will be available for purchase in White and Black color starting from September 1, 2020.
When it comes to features, it actually has almost the same specifications as the Xperia 10, only with a slight difference. The main difference between the two phones seems to be in the camera department. The newly launched handset, Sony Xperia 8 Lite offers a dual-rear camera and larger display – and that’s about it.
If that was not odd enough, here comes another weird thing – the Xperia 10 launched back in February 2019, which was quite some time ago, so much more was expected from this new smartphone.
Specifications
Running on Android 9.0 Pie, the Sony Xperia 8 Lite has a 6-inch full-HD+ LCD Triluminous display, as well as 21:9 aspect ratio. The Sony Xperia 8 Lite measurements are as follows: 158 x 69 x 8.1mm dimensions and weighs only 170 grams. The handset is also IPX5/8 rated for water resistance.
It gets power from the Snapdragon 630 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. The 64GB of inbuilt storage may be expanded up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card.
When it comes to imaging, the dual camera of the Sony Xperia 8 Lite has a 12MP main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and videos, it has an 8MP front shooter with an f/2.0 aperture. The camera also supports 21:9 video capturing, bokeh effect, EIS, 2X digital zoom and 4K video recording.
The smartphone uses 2,870 mAh battery. On the connectivity front, it gets 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac. Furthermore, the new smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. When compared with its price, it can be said the handset offers decent features and it is affordable, however, when it comes to optics, it has only two sensors at the rear.
