What is the pulp?
The pulp is a lignocelluloses biomass material arranged by chemically or mechanically isolating cellulose filaments from wood, fibre crops, waste paper, or rags. Wood and other plant materials used to make pulp contain three main components apart from water, namely, cellulose fibres, lignin, and hemicelluloses. Pulping is carried out to separate the bulk structure of the fibre source, be it chips, stems or other plant parts, into constituent fibres.

Segmentation for better understanding of this market and its growth prospects:
The most commonly used softwood trees for pulp or papermaking include spruce, pine, fir, larch, and hemlock and hardwoods, such as eucalyptus, aspen, and birch. There is also increasing enthusiasm for genetically modified tree species, such as GM eucalyptus and GM poplar, due to benefits such as increased ease of breaking down lignin and high growth rate of the trees.
A pulp mill is a manufacturing factory that converts wood chips or other plant fibre sources into thick fibreboard, which can be delivered to a paper plant for further processing. The pulp can be fabricated using mechanical, semi-chemical or fully chemical methods. The finished product may be either dyed or non-dyed, depending on customer requirements. In addition, a noticeable trend in the worldwide pulp market is the strong adoption of chemical wood pulp for the fine manufacturing of high-quality paper. Furthermore, semi-chemical pulping is used in impartial solutions that find usage in cooking wood chips. The semi-chemical pulping is comparatively less expensive than pulps manufactured from other chemicals, and are widely applied in manufacturing magazines, paper boards, cartons, and tissue paper.
