The Volcán de Colima or Colima volcano, which is said to be one of the most active volcanos in Mexico and in North America, on Monday threw out a discourse of smoldering and ash around one mile high. The Colima volcano, which since long has been expected to blast off, finally exploded on Monday, erupting smoke and ash to 1.5 kilometers height, posted Civil Protection chief Luis Felipe Puente on Twitter. According to the reports of EFE, though Puente hasn’t yet issued any alert over the eruption of the volcano, but took to Twitter to publicize the reports of this natural phenomenon.
However, instead of publishing any official alert, Civil Protection has issued a statement and suggestion reports on its Web page. The published report contains a series of references for inhabitants living close to the fire mountain, locates at the height of 3,860 meters (12,660 feet) higher than sea level. In addition, it also nears the suggestions for relocating to provisional shelters and stay away from the prohibiting radius of 7.5 km in the region of the volcano’s hollow in the state of Jalisco and 12 km in Colima state.
If any ash fall happens in coming days, the civilian authorities advised the inhabitants to cover up their noses and mouths with damp handkerchiefs or masks, in order to avoid infection and transience. Residents are also advised to shut down their windows and doors and remain inside for a possible period, envelop containers of water in order that they don’t get infected and eradicate residue from roofs that could fall down.
To recall, The Colima volcanic consists of two southward-younging volcanoes, called the Nevado de Colima which is located at the 4320-meter high point of the complex on the north and historically active Volcán de Colima which is situated at 3850-m-high at the south. Colima volcano is one of the most vigorous volcanoes of Mexico and North America and of course, is one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. Since 1585, the site had witnessed more than 30 eruptions, including multiple noteworthy eruptions which took place in the late 1990s. After witnessing such significant incidents, the technical monitoring of the volcano site started on 20 years back.
