The first month of the year will come with three interesting solar events. People will get to see three solar events in January. The year comes with two supermoons, a blue moon, and a full lunar eclipse. The first event will be the full supermoon which is also known as a wolf moon. The reason behind the super moon is on that day the moon takes a very close way to Earth following which the people will get to see a 40 percent larger and 30 percent brighter moon than the typical full moon. As per the scientific report, that day the moon becomes full, and it reaches its perigee. It is the point in the moon’s elliptical orbit when it is closest to Earth.
Well, it is not ending here. During the end of the month, the people will enjoy two more celestial events. On 31st January the blue supermoon will beautify the dark sky. It happens every two and a half years, on an average. As per the report, on Monday evening, the moon will come closer 221,559 miles to earth. The event will happen around 4:56 PM. The face of the moon will be covered by the Sun at around 9:24 PM.
On the same night of the blue moon, there will be another solar event, i.e., full lunar eclipse. People of the western United States will get a clear visibility of this. Well, for some places like Asia and eastern Australia, the full lunar eclipse will happen on 1st February. It happens when the moon passes through the earth’s shadow, blocking the light the sun which would reflect off the moon’s surface and it makes the moon appear to glow. During the event, the moon is called as blood Moon. Citizen of western North America across the Pacific to Eastern Asia will be able to get a clear picture of this red moon event.
